Thank you for your interest in volunteering in Haiti with TeacHaiti. Several people have contributed to make TeacHaiti what it is today. Every year we look forward to having people to come help us in the work of TeacHaiti and also come to see firsthand what TeacHaiti is doing in Haiti. If you or your organization or church group would like to spend a week with us in Haiti, please know that we would welcome your visit. You can email miquette@teachaiti.org for more information.
What can you do to help in Haiti or stateside?
Be an Ambassador for TeacHaiti.
Be a spokesperson for TeacHaiti. We hope to spread the word about the work of TeacHaiti but we realize we cannot do it on our own. If you are interested, please contact Miquette at miquette@teachaiti.org and we will send you the necessary information.
Christmas Program
We are always looking for groups to come help with our Christmas Program. All of our students look forward to the Christmas program because it is often the only place they will be reminded that it is Christmas. The Students usually perform, dance, recite poem and sing. We usually give each student a gift as well as a great meal.
Workshop for Teachers
If you are an educator, please help us train our teachers and staff. All of the teachers at the School of Hope are qualified teachers with teaching degrees; however, we are always looking for ways to train them and to keep developing their skills to be better teachers. If you would like to do a workshop for our teachers we would be more than happy to have you. If you are interested, please contact Miquette at Miquette@teachaiti.org
Summer program—VBS, Science fair, building repairs, and etc.
Do you have a creative summer program you would like to share with our TeacHaiti students? If so we invite you to be part of our summer program. The art class is in full swing in the summer time with activities that include, but not limited to, crocheting/knitting, painting, science fair, VBS, etc. We also do repairs to our school buildings every summer, such as painting, electrical work, plumbing, and carpentry.
Summer is such a great time to come and be a part of our summer program. The school year in Haiti goes from September through June. Most students in our school start to think about how different their summer will be without TeacHaiti involvements. Keep in mind that many of our students have a daily meal at school and a light breakfast, however, when school is not in session, most of these students have to fend for themselves. They have no guarantee they will have a meal before bedtime. TeacHaiti would like to keep its doors open in order to meet the needs of our students. Be part of the change! Get involved and keep our doors open throughout the summer!
